Fox News talking points don’t sell MAGA platform

Yet another letter from a frequent writer in Wednesday’s Sentinel, repeating Fox News talking points.

Of course, lowering inflation should be a goal, whatever party you label yourself. That being said, when the writer says you could be paying $1,000 or more a month for goods and services, he fails to note that wages have increased by almost an equal percentage that inflation has gobbled up.

The Green New Deal is evolving, with pretty much everyone acknowledging that hybrids are going to be a necessary part of the deal. He states that “our” production of oil doesn’t affect global emissions. That is like saying (in the old days when smoking was allowed on planes) that someone smoking in row 14 doesn’t affect someone in the no-smoking rows of 15 and beyond.

Trump will encourage tapping into oil and gas resources? According to virtually every website that tracks oil extraction in the U.S., we are currently extracting more oil than any other period in time.

Ron Howard did a movie? Remember, he directed a lot of movies.

Lots of people don’t pass the bar on their first go. There are lots of famous people who did not pass a bar exam on their first go. California pass rate is only 40% for first-time examinees.

What bar exam did Trump take? As Trump and his family infamously showed on a Howard Stern show, they can’t even figure out a simple math problem, and argued that THEIR math was correct, when clearly it was not.

The writer then goes on to say that Trump has “pledged” not to support an abortion ban. A pledge from a felon convicted of over 30 crimes, with many more charges waiting in the wings. Trump has tried to set up a Supreme Court to ban abortions, and he has been vocal and proud in doing so.

Harris supporting “anti-Semitic” demonstrations? I am a Jew. I, too, am concerned about bloodshed. I don’t think everyone protesting is antisemitic, and I am pretty sure that Harris, married to a Jew, would say the same.

And by the way, they have a right to peaceful protest in this country, whether you like it or not. Is that yet another right to be taken away, along with books that “conservatives” are now afraid of?

Trump lost any standing he has in the world. How can a convicted felon have legitimacy in international affairs and dealing? We don’t need a crook in office.
